The House of the Seven Gables
This was definitely the coolest thing I saw in Salem. It was big and old and there was a secret staircase inside of it and all the rooms were tiny and the stairs were creaky and there was a huge attic. You barely got to see any of the house though, and there were no pictures allowed at all. They didn't even have postcards with pictures of the inside of the house. It was really cool though. A little ways away (like, across the garden) was also the house where Nathaniel Hawthorne was born. By the way, in case you don't know what a gable is, it's an attic sort of thing that extends directly off the main roof. That's the best way I can explain it.
This is the garden. It looks really dead now, because duh, it's winter, but I saw a picture of it in the summer and its beautiful then.
I just thought this looked cool. It was off in a little corner of the garden. It's broken.
