General Notes: Child - Simon Konop

Simon and Anna immigrated to this country by September of 1855. They had three little children and Simon's mother, Maria Konop, with them. She was 58 years of age at the time. They came from Tlumocov, Bohemia, through Bremen, a German port, aboard a ship known as the S. S. Cariolan. They arrived in New York in September. The children were Catherine, Mathias and Anna.
It seems probable that Simon's brother, Joseph, may have followed him in 1861, as there is a burial record of a Joseph Konop, with the same birth date, in the St. Lawrence parish cemetery, and who had died on December 25, 1876.
