General Notes: Husband - Simon Konop

Simon and Anna immigrated to this country by September of 1855. They had three little children and Simon's mother, Maria Konop, with them. She was 58 years of age at the time. They came from Tlumocov, Bohemia, through Bremen, a German port, aboard a ship known as the S. S. Cariolan. They arrived in New York in September. The children were Catherine, Mathias and Anna.
It seems probable that Simon's brother, Joseph, may have followed him in 1861, as there is a burial record of a Joseph Konop, with the same birth date, in the St. Lawrence parish cemetery, and who had died on December 25, 1876.

Mathew Konop is also known as Mathias Konop. Math was born in Czechoslovakia, in 1852. He was about three years old when they traveled to America. At 18 he moved to Milladore, Wisconsin.

Catherine Konop was born in czechoslovakia in 1850. She was five years old when they came to America. There is no death record found. Some records indicate she married a Math Koupelik.

Anna Konop was born in Czechoslovakia in 1855. She was about six months old when they came to America. She married John Kaiser on October 19, 1874. Records show they had three children while living in the Stangelville area and then moved to Prague, Oklahoma. Their daughter, Maria, married a Joseph Sinkula.

Joseph Konop was born in Jan. 1859. He died on May 7, 1938. His obituary states that he spent his entire life in the township of Franklin, living on the same farm where he was born. He was highly respected. He died of gangrene in the legs and arterio sclerosis.

John died of a strangulated hernia. He had a disability of some kind. The first child of Simon and Anna Konop to be born in this country.

Mary Konop was born in 1862. She married Mathias Pribyl on November 21, 1882, at Stangelville. She died of Typhoid fever on August 1, 1912. They had ten children. Some of the family members live in the Green Bay and surrounding areas.
